Increased recycling boosts business at Cartridge World

Cartridge World, the market leading retailer of refilled and re-manufactured printer cartridges, is benefiting from increased awareness of the benefits of recycling. Figures from the UK Department of the Environment show that recycling increased by 14% between 2001 and 2009. At the same time the amount of waste sent to landfill dropped from 78% to 50%.
"Our motto is 'refill not landfill' and it certainly seems that British businesses, in particular, have taken that to heart," says Mark Holland, Cartridge World's General Manager. "Right now sales of our re-manufactured laser printer cartridges to businesses are 7% up on the same time last year."
Using specially formulated inks or toners, Cartridge World stores can refill or re-manufacture all major brands of inkjet and laser cartridge. The end result is a high quality product offering the customer substantial savings on the cost of an original as well as an environmentally friendly alternative to throwing the empty cartridge into landfill.
"What's doubly interesting is that our success is flying in the face of recent Mintel market research that suggests many Britons are suffering from 'green fatigue'," Mark continues. “In view of climate change, it is worrying that people are less concerned about the environment. However it's not entirely unusual for this to happen when times are tough. And that might explain why we're seeing such pleasing sales increases. Many businesses are looking for ways to reduce costs -- and Cartridge World’s cartridges offer a value for money, less costly alternative. And, even better, it just so happens that they're good for the environment too."
